1. Client-Side Browser Memory Limits (RAM)
Because all rasterization operations take place inside your local browser tab, the maximum number of pages and resolution (such as 300 DPI batch rendering) is bounded by your device's available random-access memory (RAM).
When processing exceptionally large documents (e.g. 500+ page high-resolution architectural schematics), we recommend converting in smaller page batches (e.g., 20–50 pages at a time) to avoid browser tab memory exhaustion.
2. Custom Fonts & Non-Embedded Glyphs
PDF documents that adhere to the standard PDF/A specification embed their font subsets directly in the document binary. In rare cases where a PDF references external proprietary desktop fonts without embedding them, the browser's PDF.js rendering engine will fall back to the closest standard web-safe typographic font.
3. CMYK to sRGB Color Profile Conversion
PDF files created for commercial offset print often contain CMYK or Spot Color separations. Standard web image formats (JPG, PNG, WebP) operate natively in the standard RGB (sRGB) color gamut. Our engine performs automatic color profile conversion to sRGB, which may introduce subtle hue saturation variations on specialty CMYK print plates.
4. Encrypted & Password-Protected Documents
In accordance with cryptographic standards, documents locked with AES-128, AES-256, or RC4 user passwords cannot be rendered without the proper decryption keys. Users must supply an unencrypted PDF for conversion.
